All of the Artwalk Venues are responsible for programming their own exhibitions and events. Once your Venue page is activated artists will be able to approach you with proposals, if you would like them to. However, we suggest you also try to promote your venue directly to artists. Wakefield Arts Hub can help you do this (www.facebook.com/WakefieldArtsHub) and you can also promote opportunities to artists through Arts Council England’s Arts News (http://www.artsjobs.org.uk/)
How is the Artwalk funded?
Venues pay an annual fee to participate, which is used towards marketing costs. No profit is made from coordinating the Artwalk. Venues are responsible for their own costs in running an event. Artists are responsible for their costs in making their work.
Who Manages the Artwalk?
Promoting and coordinating the Artwalk is managed by the participating venues operating as a consortium. Individual exhibitions and events are managed entirely by the venue concerned.
